While Breckenridge is well-known for its ski resort in the winter and its abundance of hiking and biking trails in the summer, the town has so many more cool activities to offer travelers and locals alike. We’ve put together a quick look at some of the more unique things that you can do while in Breck so you can enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Hot Air Balloon in the Sky

From May through October, soar high over the Rockies safely and comfortably in the basket of a hot air balloon. Colorado Hot Air Balloon Rides offers a Platinum Flight Package that includes pre-flight drinks and snacks, a one-hour balloon ride (time may vary depending on conditions), a celebratory toast with champagne or mimosas, a full sit-down breakfast, and a custom champagne glass souvenir. The flight combined with the stunning scenery you’ll behold makes this a truly memorable experience that you’re sure to talk about for years to come.

Sleigh Rides

Sleigh Ride in Breckenridge

Winter visitors can choose from several different sleigh rides through Breckenridge Stables. Scenic and Dinner Rides are available on Peak 9 from Thanksgiving through mid-April. Both of these rides give you a great opportunity to take in the wonderful views and both include a 35- to 45-minute sleigh ride complete with hot chocolate. The Dinner Ride also includes a one-hour dinner at Spencer’s Steak House. Alternatively, you can choose to take a Scenic or Dinner Ride at the Breckenridge Golf Course from mid-December through late March. These rides are also 35- to 45-minutes in length and include hot chocolate. The Dinner Ride, however, includes a catered meal held in a five-star clubhouse overlooking the Tenmile Range as well as live music.

Maggie Pond Summer Activities

Stand Up Paddle Boarder at Maggie Pond

Maggie Pond offers a picture-perfect setting for a nice variety of fun summer activities. If you’re looking for a little something different, why not rent a stand up paddle board (SUP) from a local shop and paddle your way across the lake? For something a little more romantic, rent a paddleboat with that special someone and take in the great mountain views as you tour the lake. If you’re in more of a silly mood, you can play on the water in a Tumble Bubble – a huge plastic ball that’s akin to a hamster ball. Or for a little something more peaceful, try your hand at fishing the pond, which is stocked with trout.

Dog Sled Rides

Dog Sledding in Breckenridge

Many people don’t know that they can take a dog sled ride during their winter Breckenridge vacation, but it’s an amazing and thrilling activity. With Good Times Adventures, you’ll take a six-mile trip through the Swan River Valley with a team of Siberian Huskies. You’ll have the chance to learn how to run the sled and how to work with the dogs, all while getting to see the area’s beautiful backcountry.
